Apple released updates for iOS, iPadOS and macOS on Wednesday that fix a variety of small problems. These aren’t big changes, but if you’ve got one of the problems outlined in the release notes, they should prove quite welcome indeed.

Here’s how Apple describes today’s updates — iOS 13.6.1 (and the iPad equivalent) and macOS Catalina 10.15.6 supplemental update:

iOS 13.6.1 release notes

iOS 13.6.1 includes bug fixes for your iPhone.

  • Addresses an issue where unneeded system data files might not be automatically deleted when available storage is low
  • Fixes a thermal management issue that caused some displays to exhibit a green tint
  • Fixes an issue where Exposure Notifications could be disabled for some users

macOS Catalina 10.15.6 supplemental update release notes

macOS Catalina 10.15.6 supplemental update includes bug fixes for your Mac.

  • Fixes a stability issue that could occur when running virtualization apps
  • Resolves an issue where an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) may appear washed out after waking from sleep

Apple also points out that “some features may not be available for all regions or on all Apple devices.” The company also links users to its security updates page for more info, but there’s nothing there for these releases. “This update has no published CVE entries,” both releases say.<!– –>

Wednesday’s updates follow on the heels of iOS 13.6 and macOS Catalina 10.15.6, which arrived in the middle of July. Those releases mostly focused on updates to the Apple News service, although they also fixed bugs, as per usual.

iOS 13.6 brought the Apple News Today podcast and other audio features. It also included a new “use your iPhone as a car key” feature and added a new symptoms category to the Health app.

macOS Catalina 10.15.6 added local news to the Apple News mix.
